Here are some of the big ideas that I am working on.
Doral College
I serve as general counsel for an innovative nonprofit institution of higher learning that provides free college to high school students in under-served communities. DC is also developing a low-cost experiential bachelor's program for aspiring teachers. Find out more about this amazing school by clicking here.
Break the Business
Author of "Break the Business: Declaring Your Independence and Achieving True Success in the Music Industry," and the host of the "Break the Business" weekly livestream, podcast and SiriusXM radio program that provides helpful advice for independent artists to help them move their careers forward. It features engaging discussions and interviews with acclaimed musicians and music industry professionals.
Academica Virtual Education
AVE is a virtual education service provider that bring affordable online education to students, schools, and education organizations worldwide. Its flagship initiative is its "dual diploma" program, which allows students all over the world to earn an American high school diploma online while also earning a diploma in their home country.
SLAM! Radio
I helped found, and serve as a strategic partner for, the first SiriusXM satellite radio station operated by high school students. SLAM! Radio is run out of the campus of the SLAM! Academy charter school in Miami, Florida. You can listen to it on SiriusXM Channel 145
Academica Media
Academica Media is a news and best practices resource for education professionals, education advocates, and students. I host two podcasts for the Academica Media podcast network: Big Ideas in Education (education news and inspiration) and Charter School Superstars (a weekly interview series).
Pitbull's New Year's Revolution
I am a legal and strategic advisor for Miami's annual high-energy New Year's Eve extravaganza. Starring Miami's favorite son Pitbull, the New Years Revolution show has been broadcast on Fox and Univision. I have served in my role on the project since its founding in 2014.
RKPA Law
I founded an innovative law firm that provides solutions-oriented transactional legal services to help creative professionals and organizations achieve their goals. RKPA embraces a whole-client approach geared towards not only addressing the client's immediate legal needs, but also positioning them for long-term and sustained growth.
Classroom Teaching
Every spring, I teach a business ethics seminar class at Doral College. As part of my class, my students (all of whom are dual-enrolled in high school) compete in an intercollegiate business ethics case competition against students at the top universities from around the world. In 2017, my students won the Emmons Prize for the top presentation at the International Business Ethics Case Competition. For more information about my class, click here.
Since January 2023, I also teach Business Law and Ethics at the University of Miami.
